Anka is a film maker and photographer who was born and is currently
based in Poland. Her photography is motivated equally by aesthetics
and emotional instincts. Whether the subjects are unknown people and
places or found objects Anka captures them as they are, in situ,
presenting us with moments that “deserve to be seen”.
In this collective exhibition the works come from three series of photographs:
1. The Day Shall Declare It - taken during a rehearsal for a theatre
performance playing in London in 2012.
2. Walls're Calling - a collection of images based on findings,
scratches and fragments that often become a voice of some inner world.
3. Rockingham Rolls - celebrating the uncelebrated. In a world of
heightened celebrity culture and social media self- promotion these
images encapsulate the unpretentious, a salute to the ordinary.
